God's guidance

We had an awesome experience today! It began with a misunderstanding that Jessica and I had, which then led to Jessica going upstairs, and me staying downstairs. I then prayed, for others and for us, also asking God if I should go upstairs to talk to Jessica; God had put on my heart that I should stay downstairs, and read the Word.

After I read the Word for a few minutes (reading the Word is always an awesome experience), I asked again whether I should go talk to Jessica. The answer was the same.

Another few minutes passed, and I heard Jessica opening the door upstairs, and then coming down the stairs. I got up to wait for her, and as she came down, we looked at each other, then hugged :)
She later told me that God had put on her heart to come downstairs and talk to me. After a few times that she did not want to, she obeyed.

This is a story of how our awesome God guides us, and when we obey, we see His awesome works, power, and grace.

To work on time

I had the intention of leaving to work on time this morning, but I left late because the freezing rain last night froze my door shut, and windows required heavy scraping. I was able to get in the car after some prying, and scraped a "hole" big enough to see ahead of me through the windshield (not best practice). After asking the Lord for help in getting to work on time, I arrived safely, and with a minute to spare :) Praise God!

I no longer make the best fried fish

Last night for dinner I made some fried fish. Aliza said it is the best fried fish. This morning, it is the first thing she said also, "Daddy, you make the best fried fish". I hugged her, and we went downstairs. It's Monday, so I'm getting some things ready before I head out the door, and she asked for some chocolate covered pretzels...I gave her a couple and she cries out for more. When I denied her request for more, she cries and yells "You don't make the best fried fish!"

Update

Much happened since the last 3 months, and I should have kept up with posting updates, but I was lazy. I'm sorry. I'm going to mention one marvelous testimony for now. On October 13, I went to see a doctor for the results of a test a week prior. Since a few months before then, I felt shortness of breath and chest discomfort, and that's why I went to the doc in the first place. So, on the 13th, doc said I had class 1 heart failure, outputting 35% of blood. I was put on meds, and began praying for healing. I prayed with my wife, I prayed with the prayer team at church, and believed I would be healed, though often the devil lied to me with doubt that it would not happen. This past Friday, Nov 6th, however, I went in for an angiograph, to see if the coronary arteries were part of the issue. After the test, the doctor stated that the heart was beating just fine, without problems! God's timing is perfect!
