When we face opposition

Our prayers are often asking for the removal of any opposition and those things that make us uncomfortable. We are not asking that God would use the opposition for our growth and strengthening. Yet Faith is triggered by opposition (2 Kings 3) If you’re not uncomfortable you’re not growing (think about how muscles grow at the gym).

Patience

Patience is the decision to move at someone else’s pace rather than pressure them to match yours. Patience is choosing to do less than you are capable of for the sake of keeping in step with someone else.

Misc post

Don't be lukewarm, as Jesus doesn’t want people who are half in and half out. Matt 25:14-30 This is about stewarding everything that God has given you. Everything God gives you He wants to multiply. God measures His blessings to us based on our ability to steward well.

Growing or Dying

You likely know about the Biblical principal of Sowing and Reaping. What you sow now, you will reap later and greater. Matt 25:29 Now think about plants, as they start from a seed. The plants are either growing or they are dying. They cannot stay the same. They will either grow or die. Same with us, we are either growing, or the opposite. Five years from now, you will either be closer to God, or further away from God, but you won’t be in the same place.

Another day management tip

You can improve your day by changing the way you think about and how you deal with the never ending river of responsibilities that flows in each day... only to the degree that you stop doing some things and start spending more time on the few activities that can really make a difference in your life.

A method of prayer

Has your prayer life gotten dry? Perhaps you can organize your prayer into specific sections to help. Back in the day, Jewish people entered the outer courts only while praising God. So anytime you go into prayer, begin by entering with praise. Praise Him for what He has done. After the Jewish people entered the outer courts they went to the altar where sacrifice was made. For us, we should focus on the cross after praising and thank God for salvation in Jesus. Then it was the laver, where people washed themselves. Pray for cleansing of your ears, eyes, etc to be renewed, and used for His glory. Then there was the manora, a candle stick and it was the only source of light in the Holy of holies. Invite the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. The Holy Spirit is the fuel for the light. Who is the light? You are the light! Jesus said “you are the light of the world”. Then there was the table of show bread. The high priest could eat the show bread. Claim the promises

Go out and invite!

Luke 14:15-24 What excuses have you used to not invite someone to church? Notice it is the servant in Luke 14, not the host, that is tasked to go OUT and invite people and compel people to come. Excuses used God, is that you? (Satan won’t tell you to invite people to church) I don’t feel led (Your feelings may not always align with what you know should be done) Your job is not to bring the harvest. Your job is to plant & water the seed. The God of the harvest brings forth the harvest.

Game Time 2!

The game is not won in the locker room.  It is won on the court, not by the spectators, but by the players.  The locker room is whenever and wherever Christ followers get together  The court is wherever you go after you leave the locker room.    It’s at the restaurant, your home, the job, in your car... 2 Sam 11:1 David had a fall because he stayed in the “locker room”, and did not go out.

Game Time!

After getting pumped up and encouraged in the locker room to get out on the court and win the game, teams go out on the court and play the game. There’s a segment of Christianity that is comfortable in the locker room and they don’t go out onto the court. Then there’s another that believes they don’t even need to go to the locker room and still think they can win the game. ...and another thing; during practice for sports, players don’t get to choose to practice only what they like to practice. Everyone does the same drills. Similarly, we don’t get to choose the drills at church. Whether it’s prayer, fasting, worship, fellowship, teaching... we should partake of it all to be well rounded and be a good team player. Luke 9:1-2

Power and Authority

"Power and authority always go together. Authority without power is a badge without a gun. Power without authority is a gun without a badge." Apart from Jesus we can do nothing. Your authority comes from being a child of God. Your power comes from your connection and relationship with Jesus Christ.
