Pentecost Sunday

Luke 24:46-48
Luke 11:13
Acts 2:38
John 16:7

The church should be a continuation of the incarnation. The power that was in Jesus is now residing in millions of His followers, and so in that sense Jesus said it is better that He go so that as the church we can do greater things, reach more people.

Acts 8:14-17

Greek word: baptisio... Means to dip

Just like back in the day in the big trade of cloth dying, the cloth was dipped in the dye and the cloth took on the characteristics of the dye; the cloth was in the dye and the dye was in the cloth. In like manner the holy spirit indwells in the believer and the believer takes on the characteristics of Him.

There holy spirit wakes us up to God's Word. He can take the word written thousands on years ago to someone else, and make it applicable and relevant to your life today.
He brings everything back to memory.

Romans 8:26-27
John 11:33
Ephesians 5:18-20

There holy spirit encourages believers to worship.

The holy spirit enables us to live free.

Romans 8:12-13
Mark 16:17-18

Jesus asked is it easier to heal or say your sins are forgiven? It's easier to say your sins are forgiven because you can't see sin. But to heal? That demonstrates the power in you. So Jesus healed and said go, your sins are forgiven... If he can heal you, surely he can forgive your sins.

Acts 1:8

So believers, ask for the Holy Spirit in you, and demonstrate the power of God to prove what you say.

Luke 11:9-13

To work on time

I had the intention of leaving to work on time this morning, but I left late because the freezing rain last night froze my door shut, and windows required heavy scraping. I was able to get in the car after some prying, and scraped a "hole" big enough to see ahead of me through the windshield (not best practice). After asking the Lord for help in getting to work on time, I arrived safely, and with a minute to spare :) Praise God!

I no longer make the best fried fish

Last night for dinner I made some fried fish. Aliza said it is the best fried fish. This morning, it is the first thing she said also, "Daddy, you make the best fried fish". I hugged her, and we went downstairs. It's Monday, so I'm getting some things ready before I head out the door, and she asked for some chocolate covered pretzels...I gave her a couple and she cries out for more. When I denied her request for more, she cries and yells "You don't make the best fried fish!"

Update

Much happened since the last 3 months, and I should have kept up with posting updates, but I was lazy. I'm sorry. I'm going to mention one marvelous testimony for now. On October 13, I went to see a doctor for the results of a test a week prior. Since a few months before then, I felt shortness of breath and chest discomfort, and that's why I went to the doc in the first place. So, on the 13th, doc said I had class 1 heart failure, outputting 35% of blood. I was put on meds, and began praying for healing. I prayed with my wife, I prayed with the prayer team at church, and believed I would be healed, though often the devil lied to me with doubt that it would not happen. This past Friday, Nov 6th, however, I went in for an angiograph, to see if the coronary arteries were part of the issue. After the test, the doctor stated that the heart was beating just fine, without problems! God's timing is perfect!
