Things happen for a reason...

Last night, my wife asked to use my cell phone. I said sure, but then did not know where it was. We looked for about 5 minutes, in places I may have placed it, and without success. Not in my work bag, not in the office, not upstairs in the bedroom, not in the dining room. We decided to call mom, living 10 miles away, and ask her to call the cell phone, with hope that we will hear it ring.

We heard no ringing. After another 5 minutes of searching, I thought to look between the couch cushions... "I found something..." I said to Jessica. I felt the small object, and it was a usb stick with Jessica's homework. Jessica looked and said something in the regard of "I would have had trouble looking for this.", and she placed it in her purse. I thought, and said that maybe this was the reason why the phone was lost... that we may find this usb stick, and also mentioning that we will likely find the phone soon. With instinct, I went to my work bag, in which I already looked before, and checked a pocket which I have not looked into, but don't usually put the phone in. There it was!

We were both amazed at the witnessing of God's work. God spared us both from what could have been a frustrating search for a usb stick. Praise be to God Almighty, the Merciful.

Today

Today David my brother in law who is visiting us for the summer, found a ticket on the train to Chicago. Soon after we arrived and left the train, a man came up asking for help in buying a ticket for the train. David had one! Praise God that this you g man now had this ticket, as God provides opportnities like this to impact the world in a positive way. Mom Reyes, my mom in law, told me a story about a homeless veteran who died outside in the winter months in Alexandria. She said that he was offered help and was off the streets for six months, but after that time he was back homeless. Mom said that the man, Jimmy, may have had trouble with his mind. He may have had trouble keeping a job in his state of mind. That's tragic.
Today at work, I was searching for a solution to a project, regarding calculating of shipping to Canada with Google Checkout, and was browsing in FireFox, with some search results open in a window. I was then about to open up an Internet Explorer window, which had some examples to resolve the issue at hand, though in XML code, which was different than what I use at work, but felt in my hear not to open that window, but to continue searching in FireFox. After continuing to search in FireFox, the next search result I opened included an example to Canada with the code which I use. Weeeeoeoeoeooewoowowowowowowoow owwoowowowo. Obedience to the Lord is woowowowowoowowoeooeooeooewoowo eowoowoeoowowwwowowowo awesome.

Higher Calling: Your purpose

1 Peter 2:9-12 Luke 2:49-50 Jesus understood His purpose at a young age, because He knew who He was. What you do flows out of your identity. The "I must" purpose ... 1) It will determine where you go 2) It will determine who you hang out with 3) It will determine what you say 4) It will determine how you spend your time 5) It will determine how you spend your money
