Awesome night in Elgin...

Last night, many good friends (Jordan, Stephanie, Gabe, Jane, Daniel, Vanessa, Lauren, Amy), Jessica, and I went to Bangkok House in Elgin, to celebrate Jessica's birthday. The fellowship was awesome and the food was delicious. Afterwards, we listened to live music next door, at an Italian restaurant, where the guys and girls sat separately. I don't know what the girls talked about, but we laughed a lot while talking about funny scenes in parody films, making funny gestures and noises, and practicing math when the bill came.

Even later, while walking each other to our cars, we also met 3 good friends, who were homeless, at a park in Elgin. We talked to the about God, about their life, and prayed. One of the friends, named Ricky, asked Jordan to read Jeremiah 1. I encourage you to read the awesome chapter for yourself. If I remember well, Ricky also said to let God tell us about Himself, and not to find our own interpratations.

It was a Blessed night!

To work on time

I had the intention of leaving to work on time this morning, but I left late because the freezing rain last night froze my door shut, and windows required heavy scraping. I was able to get in the car after some prying, and scraped a "hole" big enough to see ahead of me through the windshield (not best practice). After asking the Lord for help in getting to work on time, I arrived safely, and with a minute to spare :) Praise God!

I no longer make the best fried fish

Last night for dinner I made some fried fish. Aliza said it is the best fried fish. This morning, it is the first thing she said also, "Daddy, you make the best fried fish". I hugged her, and we went downstairs. It's Monday, so I'm getting some things ready before I head out the door, and she asked for some chocolate covered pretzels...I gave her a couple and she cries out for more. When I denied her request for more, she cries and yells "You don't make the best fried fish!"

Update

Much happened since the last 3 months, and I should have kept up with posting updates, but I was lazy. I'm sorry. I'm going to mention one marvelous testimony for now. On October 13, I went to see a doctor for the results of a test a week prior. Since a few months before then, I felt shortness of breath and chest discomfort, and that's why I went to the doc in the first place. So, on the 13th, doc said I had class 1 heart failure, outputting 35% of blood. I was put on meds, and began praying for healing. I prayed with my wife, I prayed with the prayer team at church, and believed I would be healed, though often the devil lied to me with doubt that it would not happen. This past Friday, Nov 6th, however, I went in for an angiograph, to see if the coronary arteries were part of the issue. After the test, the doctor stated that the heart was beating just fine, without problems! God's timing is perfect!
