Be Intentional

“I will do it no matter what.
No matter how long it takes.
No matter what I have to give up.
No matter what I have to do.
I will see it through.”

Intent gets at the heart of our routine.
Why do you do what you do every day?
Most of us live in response to what happens around us. We rely on what everyone else is doing and then we adapt to that. Your life will be what other people want it to be when you don’t have your own vision and are not intentional. In the vacuum of no plans, someone will fill that void with their own plans.

God is not going to make you change.
You have to do your part.
It takes effort and focus to become what God wants you to be.

Colossians 3:2
“And set you minds and keep them set on the things above, not on the things on earth.”

From sermon by Pastor Shawn at Watershed, Dec 31 2017.

To work on time

I had the intention of leaving to work on time this morning, but I left late because the freezing rain last night froze my door shut, and windows required heavy scraping. I was able to get in the car after some prying, and scraped a "hole" big enough to see ahead of me through the windshield (not best practice). After asking the Lord for help in getting to work on time, I arrived safely, and with a minute to spare :) Praise God!

I no longer make the best fried fish

Last night for dinner I made some fried fish. Aliza said it is the best fried fish. This morning, it is the first thing she said also, "Daddy, you make the best fried fish". I hugged her, and we went downstairs. It's Monday, so I'm getting some things ready before I head out the door, and she asked for some chocolate covered pretzels...I gave her a couple and she cries out for more. When I denied her request for more, she cries and yells "You don't make the best fried fish!"

Update

Much happened since the last 3 months, and I should have kept up with posting updates, but I was lazy. I'm sorry. I'm going to mention one marvelous testimony for now. On October 13, I went to see a doctor for the results of a test a week prior. Since a few months before then, I felt shortness of breath and chest discomfort, and that's why I went to the doc in the first place. So, on the 13th, doc said I had class 1 heart failure, outputting 35% of blood. I was put on meds, and began praying for healing. I prayed with my wife, I prayed with the prayer team at church, and believed I would be healed, though often the devil lied to me with doubt that it would not happen. This past Friday, Nov 6th, however, I went in for an angiograph, to see if the coronary arteries were part of the issue. After the test, the doctor stated that the heart was beating just fine, without problems! God's timing is perfect!
