Pillars

Pillars

Unless the Lord builds the house ...

Pillar 1
Faith in Jesus

Pillar 2
Fellowship as family

Pillar 3
Following His way

Pillar 4
Learn to fulfill your purpose
You have a specific purpose given to you by God. It is not to make as much money as you can before you die. It is to fulfill your purpose, so you can be fulfilled.

Isaiah 50:4
Your purpose is your fuel!
Spiritual nourishment comes from taking in God's Word and acting out His will.

Keys to fulfilling your purpose
1) Hear God's voice
A) Learn to be sensitive to His Word
2) Let God touch your tongue, let the Holy Spirit control your mouth
3) Get free from the fear of man
A) Jeremiah 1:8, Ezekiel 2:6, Proverbs 29:25
The only acceptance you need is that of God Almighty. Be in balance, with Fear of the Lord.
1 Cor 4:1-4
4) Commit to being fully faithful.
A) Be faithful of what is in your hands
Matt 25:23, Prov 28:20

How can you do these 4 pillars?
Spend time with the Lord.

Psalm 119 ... Lord, keep my eyes from worthless things ...

To work on time

I had the intention of leaving to work on time this morning, but I left late because the freezing rain last night froze my door shut, and windows required heavy scraping. I was able to get in the car after some prying, and scraped a "hole" big enough to see ahead of me through the windshield (not best practice). After asking the Lord for help in getting to work on time, I arrived safely, and with a minute to spare :) Praise God!

I no longer make the best fried fish

Last night for dinner I made some fried fish. Aliza said it is the best fried fish. This morning, it is the first thing she said also, "Daddy, you make the best fried fish". I hugged her, and we went downstairs. It's Monday, so I'm getting some things ready before I head out the door, and she asked for some chocolate covered pretzels...I gave her a couple and she cries out for more. When I denied her request for more, she cries and yells "You don't make the best fried fish!"

Update

Much happened since the last 3 months, and I should have kept up with posting updates, but I was lazy. I'm sorry. I'm going to mention one marvelous testimony for now. On October 13, I went to see a doctor for the results of a test a week prior. Since a few months before then, I felt shortness of breath and chest discomfort, and that's why I went to the doc in the first place. So, on the 13th, doc said I had class 1 heart failure, outputting 35% of blood. I was put on meds, and began praying for healing. I prayed with my wife, I prayed with the prayer team at church, and believed I would be healed, though often the devil lied to me with doubt that it would not happen. This past Friday, Nov 6th, however, I went in for an angiograph, to see if the coronary arteries were part of the issue. After the test, the doctor stated that the heart was beating just fine, without problems! God's timing is perfect!
