Best time spent is with God

After work yesterday, I spent some time outdoors, landscaping and cleaning. Afterwards, I wanted to relax, and so I thought about reading the Bible and spending time in prayer, and I also thought about watching "Survivor Man". I decided to read the Bible later, and so, I grabbed some snacks, and grabbed the remote.

For an hour, I watched the show, which was quite interesting, teaching about tips and techniques on survival in the arctic circle. But once the show ended, I changed the channel and watched a politics show on PBS for another one half hour, from which I did not take anything; that is, I feel I learned nothing useful. I turned off the tv set at the end of that show.

At bed time, when I took time to at last, pray and reflect, I realized I have made a mistake. The FIRST I ought to have done to relax was to be still, reflect and pray. Doing this, I know, would have set me straight. It's also very relaxing!

Until next time, peace :)

To work on time

I had the intention of leaving to work on time this morning, but I left late because the freezing rain last night froze my door shut, and windows required heavy scraping. I was able to get in the car after some prying, and scraped a "hole" big enough to see ahead of me through the windshield (not best practice). After asking the Lord for help in getting to work on time, I arrived safely, and with a minute to spare :) Praise God!

I no longer make the best fried fish

Last night for dinner I made some fried fish. Aliza said it is the best fried fish. This morning, it is the first thing she said also, "Daddy, you make the best fried fish". I hugged her, and we went downstairs. It's Monday, so I'm getting some things ready before I head out the door, and she asked for some chocolate covered pretzels...I gave her a couple and she cries out for more. When I denied her request for more, she cries and yells "You don't make the best fried fish!"

Update

Much happened since the last 3 months, and I should have kept up with posting updates, but I was lazy. I'm sorry. I'm going to mention one marvelous testimony for now. On October 13, I went to see a doctor for the results of a test a week prior. Since a few months before then, I felt shortness of breath and chest discomfort, and that's why I went to the doc in the first place. So, on the 13th, doc said I had class 1 heart failure, outputting 35% of blood. I was put on meds, and began praying for healing. I prayed with my wife, I prayed with the prayer team at church, and believed I would be healed, though often the devil lied to me with doubt that it would not happen. This past Friday, Nov 6th, however, I went in for an angiograph, to see if the coronary arteries were part of the issue. After the test, the doctor stated that the heart was beating just fine, without problems! God's timing is perfect!
